Organization
Invest International opened its doors in October 2021, in The Hague. We are a state-owned company set up by the Dutch government. A private company funded with public capital. We are a new organization and are continuously developing. Our people are aligned with our mission, and our seven people drivers guide the way we work together.
Ready for the future - Invest-NL and Invest International join forces
With a targeted date of 1 January 2028, Invest-NL and Invest International will integrate to form a full-fledged National Promotional Institution. This integration increases the effectiveness of public investments and international cooperation, improves access to financing for entrepreneurs, and strengthens the economic resilience of the Netherlands. Public Sector – Infrastructure
The Associate Investment Manager is part of the Public Programs business unit of Invest International. This business unit is responsible for developing, funding, and overseeing large infrastructure projects in developing countries, working closely together with the private infrastructure sector with a strong focus on climate resilience, water-infra, sustainable manufacturing, healthcare, and agri-food. The present portfolio consists of around 100 projects with a total value of around 780 million euros committed in grants and subsidies, reflecting a total project value of 1,4 billion euros. The yearly budget of the infrastructure programs for new projects is aimed to grow to about 200 million euros per year.
The position
The position involves supporting the team in managing existing projects and growing the public infrastructure portfolio in volume and impact.
You work closely together with other Investment Managers on activities including, but not limited to:
Support on the implementation and monitoring of infrastructure projects in the current portfolio.
Perform due diligence and compliance (KYC) checks, prepare project reviews, and process invoice payments.
Support in assessing the fit of new opportunities in focus sectors and countries.
Support on the structuring and appraisal of new projects, working towards an engagement and investment decision.
Support on fund and portfolio monitoring and reporting of concerned grants and programs
You also work with other teams in the organization including Capital, Risk, ESG, Finance, etc. You have direct contact with clients on projects in the portfolio and, from time to time, might need to travel to project sites outside the Netherlands.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has a curious and proactive attitude towards infrastructure development to create sustainable impact. Furthermore, she/he has the following skills and competencies:
Completed academic education, preferably in the field of civil-, water- or agri-engineering, finance, business or development economics, development studies, or a similar field relevant for this position – between 1 and 3 years of relevant work experience.
Excellent interpersonal and English communication and persuasion skills (both written and verbal); knowledge of other relevant languages considered an advantage.
Analytical, creative, decisive, result-driven, and focused on cooperation and the ability to bridge conflicts of interest.
Adaptable with a can-do attitude and desire to learn and share knowledge, i.e., have what it takes to work in a new organization, in the building phase.
Political, diplomatic and administratively sensitive taking into account different needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds.
Strong attention to detail and focus on quality deliverables.
Flexible, pragmatic and capable of working on several assignments at the same time.
Strong team collaboration skills, contributing to team success and to a constructive, positive and collaborative work environment.
Affection for the developing world.
Desire to create impact and strong affinity with Invest International’s mission and vision of providing Dutch solutions to global challenges, and
You have the required documentation to live and work in the Netherlands (i.e. passport, permits).

What we offer
Salary level 15: depending on experience, between EUR 4,410 and EUR 5,237 per month with a 40-hour working week, excluding holiday pay and 13th month. There is also the possibility of working 36 hours per week.
