Intern - Sector Agrifood
At Invest International, we invest in Dutch Agrifood companies that contribute to a more sustainable food system. With these investments, we aim to accelerate the transition of the agrifood sector and boost the transformation to produce food in a more responsible way. Alternative proteins, controlled environment agriculture and regenerative agriculture are some of the sectors that are key to making healthy and affordable food accessible for a growing population.
The Agriculture and Food sector also offer employment opportunities to a lot of people in developing countries and contributes to a better future for them. Dutch innovations and technology find their way to international markets with the financing tools of Invest International.
We support companies that actively contribute through their investments to SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 13 (climate action), and SDG 2 (zero hunger).
To further execute on our Agrifood strategy we are looking for an intern who is appealed by the opportunity to work in an organization which has the ambition to make a difference for current and future generations.
Role and responsibilities
We are looking for an intern who can support us in:
Analyzing and further developing the transition sectors in Agrifood including regenerative agriculture, alternative proteins, and controlled environment agriculture.
Identifying Dutch companies looking to expand internationally and contribute to a more sustainable food system.
Identifying investment opportunities in both debt and equity.
Preparing meetings and presentations for clients and sector organizations.
Providing deal team support for active Agrifood transactions.
Mapping relevant stakeholders in the Agrifood space and identifying opportunities to work together.
Preparing relevant Agrifood events and conferences.
Requirements
You are a person who:
Is currently pursuing a MSc degree (preferably with a finance and/or agricultural focus).
Is interested and or knowledgeable about the agricultural and food sector and sustainable investing.
Has strong written communication skills in English.
Has strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills in English.
Has a can-do attitude with a desire to learn.
Is an experienced MS Office suite user.
Has the ability to commit to a full-time internship for four to six months.
Is currently living in the Netherlands, and
Is looking for a fun environment to work and learn.
You have the ability to commit to a full-time internship for 6 months starting in September 2025.
Please note that interns need to be registered as a student for the entire length of the internship.
