Organization

Invest International opened its doors in October 2021, in The Hague. We are a state-owned company set up by the Dutch government. A private company funded with public capital. We are a new organization and are continuously developing. Our people are aligned with our mission, and our 7 people drivers guide the way we work together.

The department

In close cooperation with the other colleagues in the second line of defence, the Risk and Compliance Department (10 staff) strengthens the risk awareness and integrity of the organization. With that, the role contributes to the sustainable value creation and good reputation of Invest International.

The department is responsible for the risk and compliance policies and procedures. The team monitors the execution of the processes on risk management and compliance and prepares second-line risk and compliance opinions on individual transactions. Additionally, the Risk and Compliance Department is highly involved in the monitoring of the project portfolio.

The position

The Senior Financial Restructuring & Recovery (FR&R) Officer is closely involved in monitoring and managing Invest International’s client files that are facing financial, operational, or other challenges. The Senior FR&R Officer actively supports the different commercial deal teams by taking the lead in problem analysis, drafting of restructuring plans, and negotiations with clients. The scope of the Senior FR&R client portfolio is diverse, covering Dutch startups, SMEs as well as Dutch and international Large Corporates.

The reporting line is into the Director Risk & Compliance (second line of defence) who reports to the CFRO.

Responsibilities

• Handle FR&R files from Invest International’s project portfolio that are deferred to Restructuring & Recovery, in close coordination with the other (Senior) FR&R Officers.

• Taking the lead in problem analysis, drafting restructuring plans, and negotiations with clients.

• Help prepare reports to senior management on the restructuring portfolio.

• Maintain relationships with relevant external parties.

• Safeguard Invest International values at the core of its activities.

• Support the Risk and Compliance team where needed when time allows.

Position requirements

• Strong affinity with the mission and vision of Invest International.

• At least 5 years of a solid background in credit risk, with a client-facing role focusing on non-performing loans and credit restructuring & recovery, within a financial institute.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Political, diplomatic, and administrative sensitivity taking into account different needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds.

• Analytical, creative, decisive, result-driven, focused on cooperation and ability to bridge conflicts of interest.

• Flexibility in dealing with ambiguity and resilient with adversity.

• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch, both written and verbal.

• Ability and willingness to travel to emerging countries.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant area.

• Legal knowledge, especially in insolvency law, is an advantage.

What we offer

• Salary level 18: depending on experience, between €7.495 and €8,900 per month with a 40-hour working week, excluding holiday pay and 13th month. There is also the possibility of working 36 hours per week.
